You often hear of soldiers coming back from the battlefield. They would have been affected by trauma in their life. It is not easy to cope with situations in the real world. For example, they may be sensitive to loud noises. As soon as they hear a big crash, they may think that they are back in the war zone and will dive down wanting to protect themselves. This is a type of post traumatic stress that needs to be dealt with in therapy.

It can be dealt with on a one to one basis. There are also groups in which individuals share their frustrations. This comes in the forms of their anger levels, their stress, depression and anxiety. They will also talk about their battle with addictions as well as their relationships.

Children are also different from adults. They may become more withdrawn and prefer not to socialize with friends. It is difficult to know what is happening with a child because they don't often confide in someone. They sometimes feel embarrassed or ashamed in the situation. This is why it is important for the therapist to deal with this situation.

Some people will bottle up their emotions. They will be less expressive. They may need to express themselves in a creative format. This can include painting, drawing or dancing. It allows them to let go, and this makes a huge difference. It can even be better when someone like this begins to include these activities into their daily routine. Slowly, they will feel less aggressive or depressed and anxious.

Children can also suffer from various types of trauma in their lives. It can be more difficult to diagnose because kids have a tough time speaking up. They may bottle this up inside. It is especially difficult when they have been abused. This is why when they confide in someone, it is imperative that they take the case seriously. There are different ways in which a child can recover. They will do better with creative therapy or play therapy. They will be less expressive than adults.

Fear is a big problem. This is a big goal that the patient has to work towards. They may have flashbacks or nightmares. They may not want to visit the place where the trauma took place. It is process, but when they work through this with baby steps they will begin to notice improvements. This is obviously encouraging.

Expressing themselves one on one can often be daunting. They will also be encouraged to engage with these activities in the home environment. This is a type of healing, and this is also appropriate for the adult who is less expressive as well.
