There are so many traditions that Australians stick to. Traditional Australian food recipes are one of these. Some chefs will specialize in something like fish and chips and calamari in salt and pepper batter, the Australian way. Other chefs will want to use their skills to produce homely kangaroo burgers and other emu steaks which are definitely different, but worth the experience.

One may think that you are being cruel devouring burgers which contain kangaroo meat - the cute little roo which you saw jumping around the day before. However, kangaroos are everywhere and sometimes, farmers have problems coping with them. They become a nuisance. It is the same with rabbits in England which keep on breeding and become annoying as well.

The cuisine is different depending on where you go in the country. You may go to the city, where you will go through a satisfying tasting sensation. Your meal may be split up according to the wines that it is being paired off with and this can be a really nice adventure. However, a meal in the Outback is not quite the same.

You won't get the same type of atmosphere in the outback as you do in the bigger cities. Each of these experiences is different. In some places, you may want to learn how to make a type of Australian food which you have only read about before. Learning to do this in the country and being taught by an Australian chef can be a unique experience.

There are many snacks which are made beforehand and are perfect for taking out into the bush. Anzac biscuits are an example of this. They are to commemorate the time when soldiers fought in World War I. The bush tracker is made out of pastry and keeps the energy levels up. This is quite a nutty delight. Of course, breakfast is great with Vegemite which is one thing that a foreigner to this land may turn their nose up at.

When one wants to take a break from this, it is Weet-Bix which one never seem to grow tired of. It has been a firm favorite since the early 1930's. This is when it was invented. It gives you a lot of energy and it can be eaten in different ways with various types of fruit to introduce more vitamins into the day.

Pavlova was thought to be an Australian delight, popular all over the world. However, New Zealanders finally won the war, saying that there is more proof to say that Anna Pavlova was in their part of the world when she visit. Of course, the Australians will deny this and claim the pavlova to be theirs. The dessert is so easy to make and a true delight.

The prawn cocktail is something that everyone will remember from the 70's. It is so easy to make, yet it seemed to be perfect for the occasion. It is a simple starter with prawns, covered in a little mayonnaise. The tomato dressing was dropped on top. Not many people knew that the origin was from Australia.
