Clearly, Google is paying a lot of attention to search intent.
You can think of search intent as what users actually want when they search for a given keyword.
For example:
Someone searching for "best email marketing tool" probably doesn't want to read an in-depth review of one single tool.
Instead, they want to see a comparison of many different tools.
As a result, that's the kind of content that ranks on the first page of Google for that keyword: product comparisons.
If your content doesn't fulfill the search intent for a given keyword, it's very unlikely to rank well. Even if you do everything else right.
Search intent is that important.
