Techniques Of Hair Restoration DE

By Douglas Sanders

Medical hair restoration methods and transplantation have been researched for decades on end. The estimation is that almost 90 percent of all men do experience some form of male pattern baldness at one point. There however is some variance that is based on medical and genetic factors. When considering hair restoration DE residents should know the various techniques that can be used. There are two categories of treatment, surgical and non-surgical.

Non-surgical techniques will not require actual transplantation and have been used in various forms for years. Majority of these treatments were however not effective when it comes to restoring lost hairs. In most cases therefore, they are a waste of money in the long run. In the recent past however, there are two drugs that have emerged that are effective and affordable. They are the only medications with FDA approval.

The first is known as finasteride. It is prescription only and will restore hair effectively. It gets marketed under the name propecia and is taken as a pill on a daily basis. It will lead to regrowth after a number of months. The drug is however not supposed to be used by pregnant women or those planning to get pregnant. It is known to cause birth defects in unborn children. As a result, women should neither use nor handle it because it is able to get absorbed by the skin.

The other drug is called Minoxidil. It can be used by men or women. It is sold under the brand name Rogaine. It is a topical treatment option which is applied on hair daily to promote growth of hairs. The outcomes will vary but will generally be realized after a number of months. Both of these options are easy to use and will work differently on different individuals. It however has one shortcoming in that should its be stopped, any growths already achieved will be lost.

The use of surgery has over time become popular and will involve several techniques. Many options can be considered. Hair transplant surgery is the commonest and is used by more patients. It is not very invasive. It is known to produce very excellent results in those that use it. After years of research, it has become safer and easier to perform.

The question on the best method to use will depend on the particular patient. The best technique depends on the doctor doing the right diagnosis on what the cause of the loss is. It will also depend on what the individual is willing to spend on their treatment, and how patients they are.

The non-surgical methods are easier to use and tend to be more discreet. The drugs are also easily obtained from pharmacies in the case of rogaine. Unfortunately, the medications are not effective on all people and it takes time to realize results. One has to be patient.

The use of surgery to restore hair will be costlier and require additional effort from patients. The time taken for recovery will vary depending on which surgical method was used. Procedures that are more invasive take slightly more time to heal and will also be easily visible.
